Lymphatic Drainage
Supporting lymphatic health, comfort and wellbeing.
Lymphatic drainage is a specialised, gentle massage technique designed to stimulate the flow of lymphatic fluid and support the body’s natural drainage system. At Sol Clinic, our lymphatic drainage treatments are performed by a specialist practitioner, with a focus on supporting lymphatic function, reducing fluid build-up and helping patients feel lighter, more comfortable and supported in their body.
Treatment focus
What lymphatic drainage is
The lymphatic system is an important part of the body’s immune and fluid-management systems, helping collect excess fluid from tissues and return it to the circulation. When lymphatic flow becomes impaired or overwhelmed, fluid can accumulate in the tissues, contributing to swelling, heaviness and discomfort. Manual Lymphatic Drainage uses slow, gentle and rhythmic movements to encourage lymphatic flow, and is a specialised technique that should be performed by an appropriately trained practitioner.
Lymphatic drainage and lipoedema
For people living with lipoedema, lymphatic support can form an important part of a broader symptom-management strategy. Although lymphatic drainage does not treat or remove the underlying lipoedema fat, it may help support fluid management and relieve some symptoms, particularly when combined with other appropriate approaches such as compression, movement and lifestyle support.
More than a body treatment
At Sol Clinic, lymphatic drainage is not simply about body contouring. It is about supporting the health and function of the lymphatic system while helping you feel more comfortable in your body. Our specialist practitioner adapts the treatment according to your individual needs, symptoms and goals.
Potential benefits
Depending on the individual, lymphatic drainage may help to support healthy lymphatic flow, reduce excess fluid and swelling, relieve feelings of heaviness and tightness, reduce discomfort associated with fluid build-up, support mobility and physical comfort, help manage tissue congestion, support recovery following certain procedures where clinically appropriate, promote a feeling of lightness and wellbeing, and complement compression, exercise and other lymphatic-support strategies. For people with lymphatic disorders, specialised lymphatic drainage is commonly used as part of a broader treatment approach rather than as a standalone therapy.
Our approach combines specialist knowledge with personalised care. Whether you are experiencing heaviness, fluid retention, swelling or discomfort associated with lipoedema, our team can assess your needs and determine whether lymphatic drainage may be appropriate for you.
