XERF Effect
A new era of non-surgical skin tightening.
XERF is an advanced multifrequency monopolar radiofrequency technology that combines 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz frequencies within the same treatment. The objective is to create controlled thermal stimulation across different tissue depths, encouraging collagen contraction and subsequent collagen remodelling. Unlike many traditional radiofrequency treatments, XERF incorporates an advanced cooling system designed to improve treatment comfort. The result is a modern approach to skin tightening that is non-invasive, needle-free and designed with patient comfort in mind.
Treatment focus
An evolution of radiofrequency
Radiofrequency has an established history in aesthetic medicine, but older technologies could be associated with significant heat and discomfort, particularly at higher energy levels. XERF combines two frequencies with controlled cooling to create a more comfortable treatment experience — better understood as an evolution of RF technology than a replacement for it.
XERF and Ultraformer are different technologies
XERF uses multifrequency monopolar radiofrequency; Ultraformer uses microfocused ultrasound. The two create thermal stimulation in different ways and can therefore address different aspects of skin ageing and laxity. The more useful question is not which machine is better, but which combination is right for your skin.
The power of combining technologies
Skin ageing does not happen in one layer alone — changes occur across multiple levels of the skin and underlying tissues. Combining technologies that work through different mechanisms can create a more strategic approach: XERF for multifrequency radiofrequency stimulation, Ultraformer for focused ultrasound energy, and a collagen biostimulator such as calcium hydroxylapatite for an injectable biological stimulus. These approaches do not simply duplicate one another.
The science behind combination treatments
Research is increasingly investigating the synergistic effects of combining energy-based treatments with collagen biostimulators. A 2023 histological study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology evaluated a combined protocol of microfocused ultrasound and calcium hydroxylapatite/hyaluronic-acid-based filler, and reported a threefold increase in epidermal and dermal thickness, concluding that the treatments acted synergistically in collagen production. A separate systematic review conducted in Brazil examined microfocused ultrasound with collagen biostimulation and found evidence supporting combination approaches for improving skin laxity and tissue quality.
More technology does not mean better results
Combination treatments should never simply mean adding every available technology. The most effective protocols are based on understanding where laxity is occurring, your skin quality, existing collagen levels, facial anatomy, tissue thickness, volume distribution and your aesthetic goals. The combination must be strategic — the goal is not to change the way you look, but to help your skin become firmer, stronger and more youthful-looking while preserving your natural identity.

Is the XERF Effect right for you?
- Early to moderate skin laxity
- Loss of firmness
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Reduced skin elasticity
- Jawline laxity
- Lower-face ageing
- Neck laxity
- Generalised loss of skin quality
At Sol Clinic, we take a personalised approach to advanced skin rejuvenation. Rather than offering the same treatment to every patient, we assess the individual’s skin quality, degree of laxity, facial structure and collagen needs.
Depending on the patient, we may recommend XERF alone — or strategically combine it with other technologies and collagen-stimulating treatments. The objective is not to over-treat. It is to create a layered, personalised approach to collagen remodelling. Individual results vary.
Treatment investment
Every XERF protocol is planned around your skin quality, degree of laxity and collagen needs. Specific price details are discussed with you during your consultation.
