Microneedling + Radiofrequency

Advanced collagen remodelling for firmer, smoother and healthier-looking skin.

Microneedling + Radiofrequency is an advanced, minimally invasive treatment that combines two technologies in a single protocol to stimulate collagen remodelling, improve skin quality and address a range of concerns including skin laxity, wrinkles, uneven texture and acne scarring. At Sol Clinic, treatment parameters are personalised according to your skin type, concerns, treatment area and desired outcome. Individual results vary.

Treatment focus

  • Microneedling

Very fine needles create controlled microchannels in the skin. This stimulates the body’s natural wound-healing response and activates processes involved in collagen and elastin production.

  • Radiofrequency

Radiofrequency energy is delivered through the microneedling system into selected depths of the skin. The controlled thermal stimulation creates an additional stimulus for collagen remodelling and tissue tightening. Together, the two mechanisms can provide a more comprehensive approach to skin rejuvenation than conventional microneedling alone.

  • The collagen effect

Collagen is one of the main structural proteins responsible for skin firmness, elasticity and support. As we age, collagen production gradually decreases and the architecture of the skin changes. The treatment is designed to stimulate a controlled regenerative response, encouraging collagen remodelling over time. The result is not an instant transformation — the skin progressively undergoes a process of remodelling and renewal.

  • Acne scar treatment

One of the most established applications of radiofrequency microneedling is the treatment of atrophic acne scars, where controlled mechanical and thermal stimulation can encourage collagen remodelling within areas of depressed or uneven scar tissue. Clinical evidence supports radiofrequency microneedling for atrophic acne scars, with recent systematic reviews reporting improvements in scar severity and generally favourable safety profiles. Different types of acne scars respond differently, however — rolling, boxcar and deeper scars may require different strategies.

  • Skin tightening

Radiofrequency microneedling can also be used as part of a non-surgical skin-tightening strategy: the controlled thermal energy delivered into the dermis can stimulate collagen remodelling and improve the appearance of skin laxity. The degree of improvement depends on the level of laxity, skin quality and individual response.

  • Personalised treatment depths

Not every face or body requires the same treatment settings. Depth and energy parameters can be adjusted according to the treatment area, skin thickness, skin type, degree of laxity, scar depth, skin quality and treatment objective. This allows the treatment to be adapted rather than following a standard protocol for every patient.

How your care works

  1. 01

    How many treatments are needed

The number of sessions depends on the condition being treated and your individual response. Some patients may see an improvement after one treatment, while a series may be recommended for more established concerns such as acne scarring, skin laxity or significant texture irregularities. Because collagen remodelling is a gradual biological process, results continue to develop after treatment.

  2. 02

    What to expect afterwards

Immediately following treatment the skin may appear red and feel warm or sensitive. Temporary swelling, redness and tenderness can occur and generally settle as the skin recovers. The recovery period varies according to treatment intensity, depth and individual skin response, and your practitioner will provide specific aftercare instructions based on your treatment.

  3. 03

Can it be combined with other treatments

For some patients this may be sufficient as a standalone treatment; for others it may form part of a broader skin-remodelling programme, combined or alternated with fractional laser, collagen biostimulators, radiofrequency treatments, ultrasound-based skin tightening, regenerative skin treatments or other scar-remodelling protocols. Combination treatment is always planned according to your skin condition and treatment objectives.

What it can help with

Depending on your individual skin and treatment plan, Microneedling + Radiofrequency may help improve skin laxity, fine lines and wrinkles, skin texture, enlarged pores, acne scarring, an uneven skin surface, loss of firmness, photoaged skin, certain areas of crepey skin and overall skin quality.

Why Sol Clinic

At Sol Clinic, Microneedling + Radiofrequency is not treated as a one-size-fits-all procedure. We assess your skin, understand your concerns and determine the appropriate treatment parameters for your individual needs.

Sometimes the treatment is used primarily for skin tightening. Sometimes the focus is acne scar remodelling. Sometimes it is about improving overall skin quality, texture and firmness. And in some patients it becomes part of a broader combination protocol.
